Frequently asked questions
Do I need an account or internet connection?
No. CombCraft Hive Desk works entirely offline. There are no user accounts, sign-in screens, or cloud sync in this build. All hive data stays on your device.
How do I reset sample data?
Open Desk → Settings & legal → Reset offline sample data. This clears seeded workshop hives and restores the default sample yard so you can start fresh.
Why am I seeing notifications?
If you enabled Seasonal workshop cues in Settings, the app schedules local reminders via WorkManager — for example, to review winter stores before the next flow window. These are device-only notifications; no server is involved. You can turn them off anytime in Settings.
How does the home-screen widget work?
The Hive capacity widget shows live comb capacity for your primary hive stack. It reads locally stored stack data and updates when you change hives in the Yard tab.
Is this veterinary or regulatory advice?
No. CombCraft Hive Desk is an educational design workshop for beekeeping geometry, stores math, and seasonal planning. It is not veterinary advice, a pesticide label, or a breeding claim. Always follow local regulations and labeled product directions.

Privacy Policy
CombCraft Hive Desk is built for privacy-first, offline beekeeping workshop planning. This policy explains what information the app handles and how.
1. Summary
We do not collect, sell, or share your personal data with third parties for advertising or analytics. The app has no login system, no analytics SDKs, no ads, and no remote data sync. Everything you create — hive stacks, lab calculations, and preferences — is stored locally on your Android device.

3. Information stored on your device
The app stores the following data locally only, using Android Room (SQLite) and DataStore:
- Hive workshop data — hive names, stack configurations, box dimensions, and related design notes you enter or edit.
- Lab calculations — inputs and results for winter stores, nectar-flow, and swarm-space checks tied to your hives.
- App preferences — mass units (kg/lb), climate band, hemisphere, onboarding completion, and seasonal reminder toggle.
- Widget display data — cached comb capacity shown on the optional home-screen widget, derived from your local hive data.
This data never leaves your device through the app's normal operation.

- Name, email, phone number, or any account credentials (no accounts exist).
- Precise or coarse location.
- Device identifiers for advertising or cross-app tracking.
- Usage analytics, crash reporting tied to identity, or behavioral profiling.
- Payment or billing information (the app has no in-app purchases or paywall).

6. Local notifications
When seasonal reminders are enabled, Android WorkManager schedules notifications entirely on-device. Notification content is generic workshop guidance (for example, reviewing winter stores). No server push service is used.
7. Android backup
The app may participate in Android's optional device backup mechanism (allowBackup). If you enable Android backup on your device, your operating system — not CombCraft Hive Desk — may include app data in encrypted backups to your Google account or other backup provider, subject to your device settings. We do not receive or access these backups.
8. Data sharing with third parties
We do not share user data with third parties. The app contains no third-party analytics, advertising, or social SDKs.
9. Data retention & deletion
- Data persists on your device until you delete it or uninstall the app.
- Use Settings → Reset offline sample data to clear seeded workshop content.
- Uninstalling the app removes local app data from your device (subject to Android backup behavior).
10. Children's privacy
CombCraft Hive Desk is a general-audience beekeeping design tool and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.
11. Your rights
Because all data stays on your device and we operate no remote user database, you maintain full control. You may review, modify, or delete your hive data within the app, reset sample data, or uninstall at any time. For privacy questions, contact argylegenevah8691@gmail.com.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when the app changes. The "Last updated" date below reflects the current version. Continued use after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
